Investment levels can start for under 5000 pounds for a case of 12 bottles right up to over 100,000 pounds for a 1 bottle of 1787 Lafite Rothschild. This famous vintage was selling for 50,000 in 2008.

Out of around 4000 chateux in the Bordeaux region we will only deal with the top 25 which includes Margaux, Lator, Lafite Rothschild, Haut Brion, Mouton Rothschild, Ausone, Petrus, Pontet Canet, Montrose, the list goes on.
